So what’s the difference between a posed session and a lifestyle session?
When most people think of newborn photographs, they likely imagine a sleepy baby, bundled up in a warm wrap and cradled inside a bucket or prop. This “posed” style is heavily focused on all the details and often requires baby be no more than 7-10 days old, ensuring they are sleepy enough to be shaped into all the intricate setups. While every baby is different, posed sessions tend to take a good deal of time as baby needs to be settled, well fed, and deep in sleep. Dear Marlowe posed sessions always feature baby wrapped with use of buckets, furs, and other layers and textures. Our posed sessions are primarily focused on baby but we do allow enough time to sneak in a family and/or sibling shot. While many Katy Newborn Photographer’s offer an array of colors, props, and styles, the Dear Marlowe Studio aims to ensure consistency and cohesiveness in the delivery of our galleries and therefore only provides setups reflective of our portfolio.
